Every person engaged or intending to engage in any calling, business, occupation or profession in whole or in part, within the limits of the City of Ridgecrest, CA, is required to pay an annual license tax for the privilege of doing business and obtain a business license.

A Business License Application can be obtained from the Building Department in City Hall located at:

Submission

Upon completion of the business license application, it can be mailed to:

Business licenses are renewed annually. All licenses expire December 31st of the calendar year. Renewal notices are mailed out in November, and the due date is no later than December 31^st. All payments that are received February 1^st or thereafter are considered late and will be charged a late fee.

Directions for paying your business license online

If you are located in the City of Ridgecrest but work from your home, you will need to complete the Business License Application , and you will also need a Home Occupation permit from the Building Department.

You can submit a completed Business License Change Form and we will process the changes within 2-3 business days.

*Please note that there is $3.00 fee if your changes affect the face of the Business License.

Please notify the City of Ridgecrest by submitting the Business License Inactivation Form or notifying us come renewal time so that we can mark your license inactive. Fees will accrue if you do not notify the City of Ridgecrest that your business is inactive.
