     The Engineering Division is responsible for planning, budgeting, design, bid specification preparation and construction of Public Works projects. The department is the City's liaison with  Kern COG , Community Development and Caltrans.  

     Street Maintenance Division  provides maintenance, repair and street-sweeping services for 262 miles of streets. This includes repair of infrastructure such as curbs, gutters, sidewalks, drainage systems, signs, and painting. To report a pothole or other street request email or phone the department at (760) 499-5083.  

     Wastewater Treatment Facility and Collection System operates and maintains the sewage collection and treatment system in accordance with health and safety laws and Lahontan Board Orders.  For sewer lateral locates e-mail  or phone the department at (760) 499-5084.  

     Street light outages can be reported through SCE or by calling our office at (760) 499-5083.
